Artist Paul Cummins planted a sea of 88,246 red ceramic poppies at the Tower of London to mark the centennial of Britain’s entrance into WWI.
Got a new lens and decided I’d ride around the city and figure out how to make it work. Took some shots of the train station, some in Corktown, and some of the buildings that will be torn down when the arena district goes in.
I wasn’t getting the results I was looking for out of my 18-55mm stock lens, so after maybe 6 months or more of not touching my Canon some friends recommended I should move to a 50mm prime lens as my next step in equipment.
It was an entirely different experience. Without a zoom option, I had to work harder to get the right perspective and angle, but I think the clarity and speed paid off. I’m excited to shoot a little more so this blog will start becoming less of an Instagram dump.
Touched up some of these with Aperture, but tried to leave others close to how they came out on the camera.
